Port Loop Houses Unveiled For The First Time

The team delivering the new neighbourhood of Port Loop in Birmingham has released a series of new images – giving local people a glimpse inside the development’s first homes.

Joint venture partners Urban Splash and Places for People, who are working with landowners the Canal & River Trust and Birmingham City Council to create Port Loop, have released the images ahead of an open day on Saturday 8th June. There, customers will be able to look around a new show home for the first time.

Head of sales for the development Guy Ackernley explained: “This is a really exciting milestone for us, and for local people who want to get a real taste of living at Port Loop. We can’t wait to open the doors on 8th June and show customers around the show home and the wider development.”

All 40 homes in this residential phase of Port Loop are created using modern methods of construction and are built in a factory just 50 miles away in Alfreton, East Midlands, before being transported to site floor-by-floor, where they are then assembled. Each home is created to customer specifications, with buyers choosing from a range of floorplans to determine the number of bedrooms, fittings and general composition of their homes over either two or three storeys, Each home will also benefit from a private garden terrace or access to a private courtyard as well as private parking.

Guy continued: “With extensive customisation and vast variability, the homes at Port Loop are perfect for all buyers in Birmingham – be they first timers, families or empty nesters. We have already sold 60% of the first phase and it has been an exciting process working with customers as they design their dream home.

“We hope the show house we’re unveiling on 8th June will provide inspiration and whet the appetites of future residents.”

The show house launch is the first of many exciting milestones in the neighbourhood this summer; in July the Port Loop park will open and will be the first public green space for Birmingham in more than a decade, offering an expansive green space of almost one acre. It is adjacent to the show home and will feature grass mounds plus a lawn on which residents and local community groups can host events, festivals and other permitted uses.

Port Loop is just one of a number of developments being delivered by Urban Splash and Places for People whose successful, well-established working partnership, is also creating large scale communities at Smith’s Dock in North Shields, Park Hill in Sheffield and Lakeshore in Bristol.
