Birmingham Director calls out for funding for his Star Wars short film, Padawan Rising.

Based in Birmingham, Director Lee Kemp has been developing a short Star Wars film for over two years.

He has started a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise the funds for the film, names Padawan Rising.

The film follows Kano, a young Jedi in training, who must learn responsibility when she comes across a real enemy in the Star Wars universe. When she is sent to a supposedly abandoned planet, Kano is delighted to face the test of a real foe, with only a re-configured Pit Droid R-KS1 to help.

Lee has reached out to Star Wars fans from within the industry to bring the project to fruition.

“We thought it was best to make our Kickstarter campaign ‘all-or-nothing’ in the hope that gets us there.”

A new company is being formed to make Padaway Rising to ensure no conflict of interest with his regular work through Vermillion Films.
