Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery Is Getting Loved Up This 2019

You may be loved up or currently enjoying the single life, but whatever your status there’s something for everyone at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery (BMAG) in early 2019. From the annual Valentine Dinner on the day itself to a Singles Social a couple of weeks before, BMAG is pulling out all the stops for the romantic season!

Edwardian Tearooms Late: Valentine Dinner – 14th February 2019

On Valentine’s Day itself, impress your date with a dinner reservation with a difference. In the beautiful surroundings of the Industrial Gallery at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, the museum’s expert chef team will treat you to a delicious five-course romantic meal.

Dishes include options for vegetarians and meat-lovers alike – from a Mediterranean vegetable tart tatin to a rump of lamb.

To make the experience even more special, local guitarist and singer-songwriter Robert Lane will be serenading diners with live music throughout the evening.

With beautiful music and equally stunning food in an inspiring historical setting, this event is the perfect way to impress your loved one.

Tables can be booked from 7pm – 9pm for £47.50 per head. To book a table phone 0121 348 8084 or visit birminghammuseums.org.uk/bmag/whats-on/etr-valentine-dinner – be quick as this event has always been popular! Please note a deposit will be taken prior to the meal.

Edwardian Tearooms Late: Singles’ Social – 26th January 2019

Valentine’s Day is not just an occasion for those who are coupled up. The Singles’ Social in The Edwardian Tearooms at BMAG provides a chance to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere with like-minded people, make new friendships or even find someone special.

Start the evening off with an arrival drink and book onto a romantic-themed guided tour. A fun gallery quiz will get the conversation flowing, alongside giant board games and the chance to do some sketching. If you need to get away from all the activity to have a quiet chat, there is also a conversation corner to retreat to.

This is an inclusive and relaxed evening, perfect for those ready to meet someone new and also those just looking for an enjoyable evening!

Tickets cost £15 per person and the evening will last from 6:30pm to 11:00pm. This event is 18+ only.

Alex Nicholson-Evans, Commercial Director at Birmingham Museums, said: “The unique location of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is perfect for a special evening with your other half, but is also an exciting place to meet someone new in 2019! Our Valentine Dinner promises a delicious five course meal in an extraordinary setting, whilst our tours and activities at the Singles Social make for a great way to meet new people in a relaxed environment.”

Proceeds from the events will support the work of Birmingham Museums Trust, an educational charity, helping to care for Birmingham’s unique collection and heritage ensuring it can continue to inspire future generations.
