Selfridges Birmingham goes green for St Patrick’s Day

Celebrate the luck of the Irish with Selfridges Birmingham, which has turned green for St Patrick’s Day once again to mark the annual occasion.

As the city gears up for its parade on Sunday, March 17, the exterior of the iconic premium department store will turn vibrant green for the fifth consecutive year and will mark the event with a range of special offers that will help people to enjoy the craic even more.

In the food hall on level 1, Glendalough botanical gin is just £44.99 for 700ml – a saving of £5, while the distillery’s seven-year-old porter Irish whiskey is on offer for £49.99, a saving of £7. Connemara peated Irish whiskey is also on sale for a limited time, priced £41.99, down from £46.99.

Chocolate lovers can also indulge on St Patrick’s Day: the food hall has in stock Butlers Irish Chocolate, including its milk chocolate infused with Gunpowder Irish Gin, while Lola’s Cupcakes now has special edition Guinness cupcakes and Baileys- flavoured treats on sale until Sunday 31st March.

Selfridges’ Birmingham General Manager Sam Watts said: “Birmingham has a strong and vibrant Irish community and we love to celebrate it by joining in the St Patrick’s Day festivities by turning our building green.”
