90s Music, Humiliation & Prizes all in store at new event Spell BMC
One of the cities favourite live music venues is hosting a new night called ‘SPELL BMC’. It promises to ‘bring spelling to the masses’ in a new style of night out.
Organisers claim it’s like “an extremely wild pub quiz, meeting a 90’s TV gameshow, mixed in with a nerdy, traditional American spelling bee”. Get it? No, neither do we!
For those of you who don’t know, a spelling bee (according to Wikipedia) “is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty.” We have a feeling SPELL BMC is going to be just as much about drinking and the music though!
The music policy is described as being “bangers” from the 1990’s and 2000’s.
It’s all housed in Mama Roux’s – a New Orleans inspired live music venue, best known for being the weekend home of street food giants Digbeth Dining Club. They will be providing the eats from award winning traders.
Organisers say the event is for anyone over the age of eighteen, and there’s no age cap; it’s open to anyone – as long as they don’t take themselves too seriously!
Tickets available from just £4 (including booking fee) from Skiddle:
