UK’s biggest gaming festival returns
Insomnia is back this August at the NEC for gaming lovers across the country following it’s record-breaking success in Spring.
More than 40,000 people attended April’s festival to make the most of the four-day event. Gamers who came met their favourite YouTubers from Syndicate and ImAlexx to WillNE and Jelly; experiencing cutting-edge VR technology.
The festival will include: themed zones offering retro arcade games to state-of-the-art AR tech of tomorrow. Bringing the scenes from the screen to life, Insomnia 65 will have unmissable stage shows, classic table-top RPG, creative cosplay and exclusive merchandise.
Phil Crawford, who is part of the organising body for Insomnia was happy about the number of attendees last year.
“With a record number of attendees, the atmosphere was electric and seeing those virtual friendships come to life in person was exactly why we work so hard on this event.”
Last year, 1,000 people plugged in for the biggest LAN party the UK has ever seen with 102 teams across 24 tournaments in four days, whereby £27,000 in prize money was given to the winners.
“i65 will give gamers a chance to meet like-minded people off-screen and experience the best of contemporary and old-school gaming,” Crawford said.
Insomnia will return for a four-day game-fest from 23-26 August for all levels and ages to explore what i65 has to offer. The festival will bring e-players from around the country, giving them a chance to meet and battle.
