Can You Help Name New Guide Dog Puppy?
Nottingham’s intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh are calling on the help of customers to name a new guide dog puppy on behalf of Guide Dogs UK, following a donation of £2,500 made by the shopping centres to sponsor the pup.
Playing a key role in supporting the work the charity carries out, the money from the donation will go towards the puppy’s important first year, including food, training and veterinary bills. It also forms an integral part of a long-term partnership between the centres and the charity.
Guide Dogs works to provide life changing services for the independence of people living with sight loss and their friends and family. Working with people of all ages, Guide Dogs does this through its guide dogs service, mobility training, technology and a sighted guide service, My Guide.
To help with training requirements, all name suggestions should be two syllables long and not sound similar to any training commands such as ‘sit’, ‘stand’ or ‘wait’.
Name suggestions can be submitted through the intu Victoria Centre or intu Broadmarsh Facebook pages at www.facebook.com/intuVictoriaCentre or www.facebook.com/intuBroadmarsh and the winning name will be announced on Friday 30 August.
