DHP Family Up for National Promoter of the Year

DHP Family Up for National Promoter of the Year

DHP Family has been revealed as one of the three finalists in the running for National Promoter of the Year following a stellar year for the rapidly growing company.

With the three finalist spots hotly fought over, the Nottingham headquartered company is delighted to have made the cut in five categories of the well-regarded Live UK Music Business Awards.

DHP’s live business has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years with a focus on live development of acts playing 50+ capacity venues up to some of the biggest international artists playing UK tours in world-renowned arenas.

Two of its venues and one of its festivals have also been named as finalists while hopes are also high to claim Spectacle of the Year for the four Ed Sheeran shows at The O2.

The company – which won the national promoter title twice previously – also sees its legendary venue, Rock City in Nottingham, up for Best Club in the 800+ capacity section, while the iconic venue on a boat, Thekla in Bristol is up for Best Venue under 800 capacity.

Dot to Dot, which saw its biggest ever edition of the festival this year, is nominated for the first ever Best Multi-Venue Festival award for its three city affair across consecutive days in Bristol, Manchester and Nottingham.

The newly created DHP Live got off to a flying start last year delivering a sell-out Brian Wilson Pet Sounds anniversary tour. Staff levels have grown to 400 plus with the main operation in Nottingham and a growing team based permanently in London. Plans to open an office in Birmingham to help strengthen its presence as a promoter in the city along with the new venue it is due to open in 2018 were also announced recently.

Now in its eighth year, the awards recognise excellence and talent among promoters, venue operators, festival organisers and agents, through to artiste managers, tour managers, show producers, brand impact and record label partnerships.

The winners will be announced at the gala awards ceremony in London on 12 October, following the annual conference and networking event Live UK Summit.
