Fashion fans from across the East Midlands descended on the city for a weekend of style at this year’s It’s In Nottingham Fashion event.

Taking place at the iconic Council House, overlooking the city’s Old Market Square, the two-day event showcased the best fashion that Nottingham has to offer, with over 200 outfits paraded down the catwalk by a team of local models of all shapes and sizes.

The shows featured the latest clothes, footwear, jewellery and accessories and new season styles from over 50 of the city’s stores who were a mix of high street brands, department stores and one-off independent names. These included John Lewis, New Look, House of Fraser, Jigsaw, French Connection, Stick and Ribbon, Debenhams, Radley, Dr Martens and Gigi Bottega.

People could choose from three differently themed shows, tailor-made to appeal to all fashion lovers.

The first themed show was titled From Campus to Club and was aimed at the many students living in Nottingham. It showcased the key looks and SS/17 trends ideal for a student lifestyle and budget, combining the best of casual styles perfect for walking around campus with glamorous looks for nights out in the city.

The second show, From Desk to Dinner, displayed versatile outfits that could be dressed up or down for a day in the office or an evening sipping cocktails – mixing sophisticated workwear with statement accessories.

Lastly, Style Classics was created for the high end fashion lovers with a focus on investment pieces, incorporating the latest spring trends with classic iconic looks.

Style spread to the Old Market Square during the event too with a large digital screen showing the indoor performances as well as a parked-up dedicated Fashion Bus. Shoppers were invited to jump on-board and experience a free mini beauty treatment from brands including Aveda, Bobbi Brown, Too Faced and Clarins.
