Leicester’s Favourite Indian Restaurant Invites You To Have A Party With Their Blueberry Vardy Bhaji!

Leicester’s favourite Indian restaurant Chutney Ivy have created a deliciously unique bhaji in honour of The Blue Army’s success. Co-Owner Shaf Islam was away from home territory when Leicester won the Premier League, but that didn’t stop him from celebrating in Bangladesh where he got the inspiration for the tasty starter.

“I was so proud of Leicester winning, I wanted to do something to represent the team and to represent the City itself. Coincidentally, our cook in Bhangladesh found out we were from Leicester and added a little extra to our meal that evening. We ate various blue-tinged snacks! It was incredible. Even though I was thousands of miles away, in a completely different continent, Leicester’s story was being followed. We were global and it was at that point I knew that I’d be making sure the restaurant would be celebrating when I got home too. So, I decided to turn a very well known starter, and one of our most popular dishes at Chutney Ivy blue too. And thus, the Blueberry ”Vardy” Bhajis were born.” states Shaf.

The bhajis themselves are made from all natural products, with the innovative inclusion of delicious blueberries to give it that LCFC blue hue and subtle yet sweet undercurrent.

According to a poll conducted eighteen months ago, Leicester’s favourite dish is the curry, and Chutney Ivy is one of the most prestigious restaurants of Indian cuisine in the City, having been recommended and included in the 2016 Michelin Guide.

The restaurant, based in the Cultural Quarter in Leicester City Centre will be handing out the specially made bhajis to revelers involved in the Victory Parade on Monday 16th May, and will be adding them to their specials menu until the next football season.
