LEICESTER’S CHUTNEY IVY SHOWCASES DIVERSE & INNOVATIVE MENU

Leicester's Best Indian Restaurant

What do you get when you mix traditional Indian cuisine, modern dishes and the Michelin Guide? Why you get Chutney Ivy of course. For the past year, one of Leicester’s best Indian restaurants has gained much recognition within the food industry, having been recommended within the prestigious Michelin guide yet again for 2016, and being nominated, shortlisted and ultimately named runner up for the best Indian restaurant in the Midlands at the British Curry Awards.

Their menu, which we were lucky enough to sample, is put together by General Manager and co-owner Shaf Islam, who wanted to set his restaurant aside from the cookie cutter Indian restaurants you find all over the Midlands. His inspiration comes from various places, from travelling to different countries and sampling the local food, to even eating other cultural dishes right here in the UK. His crispy duck samosas are in fact inspired by his favourite Chinese dish- crispy duck pancakes and the creamy Jingha Rowshne king prawns were dreamt up when Islam attended a friend’s wedding in France.

His passion for food is clear with every mouthful, and with innovative dishes like pumpkin bhuna and sea bass masala, it’s no wonder that the restaurant is receiving rave reviews from customers and food critics alike. The food is cooked from fresh, using many ingredients from Leicester Market and Chutney Ivy will happily cater to anyone’s spice tolerances, whether adding or subtracting the heat!

Chutney Ivy can be found at 41, Halford Street, Leicester LE1 1TR 0116 251889
