The 4 Hottest Festival Trends of 2017

SIXTY9 Style Commentator Sarah Potter talks the hottest festival trends of 2017.

Ah festival season! Time to chill out or rave away to some awesome tunes and forget about the real world. For those of you who refuse to stay in the same jeans and t-shirt for four days straight, there is an abundance of fashionable festival inspired clothing. Smatters of bright prints, lashings of shimmering glitter and a tassel or two make up collections of clothing that are fun, vibrant and will certainly get you noticed. Here’s some of my favourite looks- follow me @sarahhhhrah Instagram: @sarah_jayne_potter www.sarahjaynepotter.com to see more.x

TROPICAL VIBE

Jennifer Cobalt Sequin
Applique Mesh Top, £20 Pretty Little Thing

Bold, bright tropical inspired prints and patterns are a great trend to channel this

Summer, even if the UK weather doesn’t quite live up to a Caribbean getaway. This trend is for the stylish girls who want to make an impression without going all out. Palm prints, pineapples, flamingos, tie dyes and big paint brush strokes are great options.

CHIC EMBROIDERY

Multi-coloured Denim Pom Pom Jacket £29.99 TK Maxx

Feminine and fashionable, embroidery isn’t just reserved for the older generation don’t you know! From
pom poms to fringes to badges and embroidery sewn onto everything from jackets to jeans. It’s also the easiest festival trend to DIY.

GLAM ROCK

For those that prefer something a little

‘Blazing’ Sandals £145 Dune

more dressy when they’re dancing until sundown, channel 70s rock with off the shoulder jumpsuits and playsuits and why not incorporate sequins and glitter? Textured fabrics like quilting, fur (faux of course) and velvet ooze decadence. What’s even better is that face and body glitter has become a serious trend at festivals and would work perfectly with this look!

BOHO BABE

Jungle White Top
£24.99 Superdry

For girls who want to update their wardrobe with pieces they can wear

again and again throughout the Summer, this trend is the one to choose. Paisley, florals and neutral colours with the introduction of smock and lace for added texture. Boho beads, bangles, bags and scarves means that this trend can update any outfit in an instant!
