REVIEW: It’s All About The BEAM Shoes.
I am sure most of you will agree, there is always a big kid lurking inside us that wants to join in with anything fun. For some time, trainers with flashing lights for kids have been on the market, but surely you wouldn’t think there is a call for an adult version. Well you couldn’t be more wrong, recently a trend of adult LED shoes have started to hit the market and our resident big kid, Lilith Hunt-Sheppard couldn’t wait to get a pair on. Luckily BEAM shoes were on hand with their own version of flashing shoes. The Brainchild of friends Gus and Serena, BEAM sent us a pair to try and this is what Lilith thought of them.
The first time I ever saw adult LED trainers; I was at Sankey’s in Ibiza last year and my eyes caught someone wearing a pair. I was mesmorised and I will admit, a little jealous, I definitely knew I wanted a pair. Fast forward a few months and there I was going through Instagram when I came across BEAM shoes. My eyes lit up and I knew I needed to have a pair in my life, little did I know at the time just how much I would fall in love with them.
As you may all know, I love a good night out, and happiest when getting my groove on, on a dance floor. Once my BEAM shoes arrived all I could think about was my next night out, so that I could wear them. With different colours to choose from (black, white or silver) I opted for a silver pair. As a pair of trainers alone they are extremely comfortable, look good and are easy to clean, which is essential after a nights raving. One of the main things I love about them is the fact that you can turn them on and off. So when wearing them in the day or just somewhere like a pub, they just look like a cool pair of trainers. As the night draws in or you enter a club, a simple press of a button and POW, you can switch on the LED’s. They have eight different colour options, seven that are just still color and the final one that flashes through all the colors (that is my favorite when I am dancing). When the night is over you can simply just turn them off again, genius! The color lasts for eight hours and they can be recharged. With a discreet point in each shoe and a USB charger you plug them in for 2 – 3 hours and they are back to full BEAM.
If I am honest, there isn’t anything I don’t love about them. They are stylish, comfortable, practical and so much fun. It’s easy to see why the likes of Rudimental are fans and I can safely say, trainers will never be the same again, without my BEAM’s.
