Fenways Burgers, Smokehouse and Bar is bringing casual dining into the heart of Loughborough.

Fenways bringing casual, smokehouse dinning to Loughborough.

Fenways is the Orange tree group’s most recent venture, and their eighth site. Taking inspiration from some of London’s most popular street food concepts, and launching on the back of their successful pop up restaurant ‘The Smokehouse’ in Leicester, Loughborough’s newest burger and smokehouse restaurant is set to open on the 13 April, bringing with it an impressive selection of handmade burgers and 14 hour smoked cuts of meat that are bursting with flavour; premium cocktails and soul. It’s casual, simple and completely individual.

Located on Baxter Gate, Loughborough’s most exciting area, Fenways has undergone a major refurbishment to provide an all-encompassing restaurant, bar and live music venue to the area. Andy Darch, the previous General Manager at The Kelso in Loughborough, is extremely well placed to make this venue a success and his main priority is to ensure customers have a positive and memorable experience.

Fenways brings together the best of popular eating, drinking & social trends. For the first time, in Loughborough, you can choose from a large selection of smoked meats & burgers, then match your meal with an array of craft beers, wines, cocktails or shakes.

With warm and comfortable indoor and outdoor dining and drinking areas, you can spend hours relaxing and checking out the funky décor and little touches that make the place so special.

Fenways is about discovery and it is easy to see why with so much happening here, showcasing live music and DJ’s into the early hours on the weekend, it’s an ever changing hub of activity.

There is so much more than meets the eye

Looking around, it is bursting with eclectic décor that complements your overall experience. This quirky style extends to one of the most impressive areas: The ‘inside out’ garden. The outdoor seating area is an amazing feature, well covered and decorated, it really feels like stepping into another part of the restaurant. With so much space, you can enjoy your meal and great quality drinks inside or out!

Seasoned with soul

The food is what really makes Fenways stand out, with classic dishes you’ll recognise but with a new take; each meal is handmade to order and packed full of flavour. With an impressive selection of homemade rubs and sauces, the taste is something completely individual.  Head chef Liam previously worked at The Smokehouse in Leicester and will be bringing some of his signature flair with him.

I’m really excited to be bringing BBQ and Smoked food into Loughborough, it’s always fun to take a product that people are so familiar with and take it to a new level and do something exciting and unexpected. We’re all about the low and slow cooking and can’t wait to launch the burger menu. We’re using fantastic meats from Leicestershire and further afield to ensure all the dishes are high quality.

Liam Watson, Head Chef at Fenways

Let’s not forget the signature cocktails, with the bar located as you walk in, it’s such a comfortable atmosphere to socialise and enjoy a drink or two. Although, be aware if you’re coming for a drink, you’ll probably soon be tempted for a bite to eat with the enticing smells from the smoker ovens and the kitchen.

About the Orange tree group

The Orange tree group has been steadily growing for nearly 20 years and brings a wealth of experience, passion and individuality to each site. Owners Ben Hings and Gareth Smith have been friends since meeting at College over 30 years ago and take a very hands on approach to their business. Since opening their first bar, the Orange tree, in 1997 (now something of an institution on the High Street in Leicester) they’ve gone on to successfully open and run eight venues across the East Midlands. They are confident that their passion for food and fun will make Fenways a massive hit in Loughborough.

“Over the years we have noticed the changes in how consumers wish to spend their leisure time. Loughborough has been influenced by these changes with the new Baxter Gate development and we feel that Fenways will tick all the right boxes and give the Loughborough market exactly what is currently missing: great quality smokehouse food, served in a casual environment and backed by superb friendly service. We are very much looking forward to opening our doors and giving Loughborough something a bit different from the usual branded chains.”

Ben Hings, Director of the Orange tree group
