A familiar aroma can conjure a multitude of memories … lilac on a balmy summer’s afternoon; coconut oil on a sun-kissed beach; or freshly pruned Ena Harkness roses in your grandparents’ garden. Whatever it is, our sense of smell is as individual as our sense of style.

Harvey Nichols Birmingham explores the Art of Scent with a specially-themed beauty evening on Thursday October 22 from 6-9pm- in association with The Perfume Society. Award-winning perfumer, Alice Lavenat, the nose behind fragrance brand Nejma, will host two exclusive master classes highlighting her own love of perfume and offering insider tips on how to find the right scent for you.

Guests can enjoy Blossom Daiquiri cocktails in the state-of-the-art Beauty Hall where leading luxury brands will offer a host of promotions and activities including: hand and arm massages from Sisley, Natura Bissé and Estée Lauder; nail art from Shavata; hand treatments from Dermalogica; Hershesons hair styling demonstrations; Yves Saint Laurent makeup classes; makeovers by Lancôme; aroma benefits from Espa; and one-to-one sessions on scent for relaxation and mood management with Yoghanda. The new Beyond MediSpa clinic will also be open and information on the very latest medical aesthetics treatments will be available.

Those who download the Harvey Nichols Rewards app on the night will receive a floral head garland, while customers purchasing fragrances will get an illustration of their favourite perfume bottle by Milly Jackson.

The evening runs at the luxury Mailbox store from 6-9pm and tickets cost £10, redeemable against beauty purchases on the night. For more details or to book call 0121 616 6008 or ask in store.
