Take a Bite of Leicester’s Independent Food Scene on The Leicester Food Hop

With so many wonderful places to explore and eat out in the city it can be difficult and expensive to visit them all, but now you can enjoy 5 in one day on the Leicester Food Hop on Saturday 13 October.

5 hours – 5 independent eateries – 5 dishes – 5 drinks

The Leicester Food Hop is being launched to make it as easy as possible to visit some of the city’s best independents and encourage people to explore what’s on offer in town. With new venues opening up, menus changing, and the added cost of eating out it can be difficult to keep up, but now you can grab your friends and enjoy a small dish and a drink in 5 different venues all on the same day. Customers will be given a starting point and a suggested route for their group to follow and they’ll then visit each venue in turn to enjoy a dish and a drink.

Participating venues on the 13 October Hop will be:

King Richard III
The Fish & The Chip
The Knight & Garter
The Parcel Yard
The Olive – Greek Street Food

The Food Hop has been set up by  Leicestershire’s online magazine, Cool As Leicester, as a way to encourage people to get out and about in the city. Gabby Miller commented, “Through Cool As Leicester I’m fortunate enough to get to know the people behind our vibrant independent food scene here in the city. We have so many great places on our doorstep but time and money constraints can make it hard for people to get round them all. With Leicester’s independent food scene better than ever the Food Hop will let you discover some new places, enjoy new dishes and have a great food and booze filled day out with your friends.”

 

Tickets are priced at £30 and include a small starter or tapas dish and a drink (small glass of wine or 1/2 pint of beer) in each venue.

The Food Hop takes places on Saturday 13 October between 12pm – 5pm.Places are limited.
