Friday 6th October
Curve – Leicester
Ragamuffin – 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday. Ticket £6 – £10
Ragamuffin, a bad boy with irresistible charm and merciless gangster attitude, is standing trial for crimes against the African community with the audience, as the jury, left to decide his fate. Writer and director Amani Naphtali revisits his 1989 seminal play, set to the backdrop of the Haitian revolution and the inner city uprisings of 1985. The play continues to resonate with this revival featuring contemporary reflections.

Gladness is a seven piece tribute act to ska legends Madness, consisting of seasoned musicians that have played with famous artists such as the Specials, Desmond Dekker and Laurel Aitken. Gladness is fronted by two lifelong Madness fan brothers with over 50 Madness concerts to their name. Madness was one of the most successful British acts of the 80’s, with a string of hits including ‘Baggy Trousers’, ‘House of Fun’ and ‘It Must Be Love,’ to name a few. Gladness perform all the classics, as well as a few album tracks for the diehard fans. Dance, smile and enjoy some of the best pop songs ever written by these national treasures!

Our bear-illiant Farewell Weekend is your last chance to track down any paw-fect pals you didn’t get chance to meet or snap a selfie with your favourite bear from the trail! All 100 bears on the main trail, including the four special celebrity bear cubs, will join together for one last time before they’re auctioned to raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

For Lucy Spraggan, 2017 has already been a year to remember. The singer-songwriter has already netted her fourth top 40 album and followed that success with a huge tour across the UK and Europe.
Described as ‘a triumph’ by The Sun, I Hope You Don’t Mind Me Writing was released in January 2017, charting at number 12 in the Official Top 40 Album Chart. It was the second release under her own label, CTRL Records.
