International Smash Hit Musical Billy Elliot Heading to Birmingham Hippodrome

One of the most beloved musicals, Billy Elliot is heading to Birmingham Hippodrome as part of its first ever UK tour after eleven years in the West End. Featuring a timeless score by Elton John the musical is nothing short of a sensation, with toe tapping music numbers and amazing dance numbers. This uplifting, funny and powerful story will be one that will stay with you forever.

Oliver Beer

15th March – 4th June

@Ikon Gallery

Oliver Beer is a British artist who will be making his grand return to the Ikon gallery since his last exhibition in 2011. This new work, commissioned by Ikon entitled “I wan’na be like you” is a “reanimation” of a scene from the film – Jungle Book. 2,500 local school children from early years until age 13 have contributed to the piece to show the progression of animation through infant years.

Although Rick has fought for his country he still fights for acceptance as the reality of life as a black man in post-war Britain hits him. Despite being a skilled engineer, no employer wants him and eventually he is forced to take a teaching post in a tough inner city school. Rick’s class don’t want him and with very little to look forward to after leaving school he bids to unite with them for a better future.

Rag & Bone Man

@Rock City, Nottingham.

Though he has been on the music scene for a couple of years now, Rag N Bone Man got wide recognition with his hit single Human, which was released last year. Now with his debut album released in February, he is heading to Nottingham’s ultimate music venue, Rock City.
