2Funky Music Cafe presents Ska Night: Musicians Against Homelessness

2Funky Music Cafe presents Ska Night: Musicians Against Homelessness, live on Friday 8 September, 8pm. They are supporting the wonderful charity Crisis, who are in their 50th anniversary year.

Crisis are dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change in England, Scotland and Wales (http://www.crisis.org.uk).

A Ska filled night with live bands and DJs till late will include:

The Millmen, who are focused on dance grooves, with soul, ska and reggae, and a fair amount of
grit thrown in for good measure. Soaring rocky guitar solos, punky vocals, and a massive four
piece brass section await you. To top it all off, expect to be barked at with passionate left wing
lyrics and surprised by harsh push-pull progressions. Overall, very groovy, danceable and
enjoyable.

The Social Ignition, who are a ska fusion band with a melting pot of musical influences, from folk
to funk, jazz, hip hop, rock and punk but always with a main focus on reggae and ska. The broad
range in musical interests and influences of the band members adds to their interesting, diverse
sound and makes their genre more difficult to categorise. With a little bit of something for everyone,
they really are ‘not to be missed’.

General Chaos play high energy original songs with ska and punk covers.

DJ’s so far confirmed are Double Barrel Soundsystem and Rogues In Brogues.
