Smell Scent-sational with Selfridges Birmingham’s Fragrance Favourites
Introducing Selfridges Birmingham’s Fragrance Favourites edit!
Filled with all of the best-selling fragrances, Selfridges have shared with us this fantastic selection of products that is sure to help you smell the roses in 2021.
Including the award-winning, Project Earth friendly Santal 33 eau de parfum by Le Labo and the iconic Black Opium scent by Yves Saint Laurent, this selection is bursting with sure-to-please recommendations.
Le Labo’s Santal 33 eau de parfum is born from the memory of an old Marlboro advert – its defining image of the spirit of the American West and all its implied ideals of masculinity and personal freedom. Poured into a refillable glass bottle, this unisex scent opens with cardamom, iris, violet and ambrox, while spicy, leathery and musky notes bring an addictive comfort.
Creed’s Aventus eau de parfum hasn’t made it to the list of favourite fruity fragrances for no reason. Inspired by the dramatic life of a historic emperor, the scent opens with top notes of blackcurrant, pineapple, apple (of the Calville Blanc variety) and bergamot and is crafted with a heart of peppery rose, birch, jasmine and patchouli. As for the base? That’ll be filled with oakmoss, ambergris and vanilla.
MAISON FRANCIS KURKDJIAN Baccarat Rouge 540 edp spray 70ml, £215.00
Excelling at creating well executed perfumes, Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540 edp spray boasts a unique oriental floral fragrance suitable for both men and women. Originally launched in 2014, this scent has been re-released for 2016. With notes of saffron, amberwood and cedar, the label’s reputation for excellence exceeds itself.
It’s the strong coffee in the Black Opium eau de parfum from Yves Saint Laurent that injects a shot of adrenaline into the iconic oriental fragrance. Well, that and the seductive notes of white florals and sweet vanilla, of course. An addictive contrast of light and dark.
Combining pure fragrances and chic packaging, diptyque candles have been a favourite in design–conscious homes for more than 40 years. This set of three mini candles is a great way to introduce this coveted brand into your home; set includes Baies, Diptyque’s best selling candle – a bouquet of roses and blackcurrant leaves, Figuier – the warmth of fig wood, the freshness of its leaves and the milky sap prolong the pleasure of Philosykos eau de toilette.
Inspired by fresh, ripe fruits filled with sweet nectar, Tom Ford blends intoxicating Pêche de Vigne with Sicilian Blood Orange Oil to create the Bitter Peach eau de parfum. This fragrance marries rum-infused Davana Oil, Cognac Oil and Jasmin Absolute Sambac at the heart while the base smoulders with notes of sandalwood, Cashmeran, Vanilla, Tonka Bean and Indonesian Patchouli.
One spritz of Sauvage Parfum by Dior and it’s as though you’ve been whisked away on a journey. Starting along the coastal roads of Southern Italy, the scent begins with citrusy mandarin and sun-drenched bergamot plucked from Reggio di Calabria. Next, the Indian Ocean paradise of Sri Lanka with dense, woody Virginian cedar and sandalwood essence sprinkled with raspberry. The last stop off? Papua New Guinea and creamy vanilla blended with slightly bitter tonka bean.
