No Bones, Meat Free Dining & Street Food Sunday Roasts At Digbeth Dining Club.

The new season of Digbeth Dining Club is getting ready to launch, and is set bring fresh events onto the street food table.

This will be the seventh year that DDC will be trading in its unique Digbeth venue, and with it arrives a regular Vegetarian and Vegan night each and every Thursday, alongside a once-a-month Sunday Roast, family friendly day.

The NO BONES Vegan and Vegetarian food events were trialled for the first time last Summer, proving to be so popular they attracted between 600 -2000 people every month. So DDC organisers decided to not only make it a regular weekly happening, but also give the traders a separate space so there would be a clear division for people wanting to steer clear from meat.

DDC co-founder Jack Brabant said: “We were amazed at how quickly our NO BONES event gathered pace, and it was an instant hit with our diners – so this was an obvious choice for us. While there will be our regular traders out the front serving a selection of their much loved dishes, the space at the rear of DDC will be reserved just for the Vegan and Vegetarian foods, whilst it’ll be business as usual out the front.”

He added that around four to five traders would be trading at NO BONES every  week.

“There is a huge demand for it, and 2019 has proved especially strong for the interest in Veganuary with people wanting to try more plant based diets. We are really proud to be able to cater for all diets and beliefs, and so this is just a bigger and more permanent step towards it,” he added.

DDC will also be running for four days each week, with Sunday’s continuing to be family – and dog – friendly. Their monthly twist of the Sunday Roast, which was also trialled last year, will be back in March.

“It was an instant smash hit when brought this in last year, especially for families wanting to bring their children along and have a different venue to come to, so we will be bringing this back to the table in March,” he said.

The final newness for DDC for 2019 will be the introduction of their first permanent traders at the venues.

Buddha Belly and Only Jerkin’ have been with DDC for a few years now, , so have more than earnt their merits as being our first fixed traders. . They’ll be with us every Thursday to Sunday, alongside our monthly resident and continuously changing line-up which makes DDC such a draw for foodies,” said Jack.

James Fitzgibbons, co-owner of Buddha Belly added: “We’ve been working with Digbeth Dining Club ever since we began in street food and despite travelling up and down the country for the past five years we’ve always seen the place as a spiritual home. To be asked by the team to set up a permanent home, right where it all began is an absolute dream come true and we can’t wait to get going.”

Further external events are also being planned in major towns throughout the Midlands, including Coventry, Shrewsbury, Kings Heath, Longbridge, Codsall and Wolverhampton.

The launch weekend, kicking off on Thursday 24th January will include live music, retro gaming, and the usual high quality food that has attracted thousands of hungry diners back each month. Events run Thursday’s 4pm – 11pm, Friday’s 4 – 11, Saturday’s 1pm – 11pm and Sunday’s from noon until 8pm.
