Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising at University Hospitals Birmingham Charity, said: “On behalf of our 20,000 members of staff across our hospitals I would like to thank LUKE and Aston Villa for choosing University Hospitals Birmingham Charity as the beneficiary partner for the Dapper Villan collection. At this really difficult time we are using the generous donations that we receive to fund those things that will make a difference to our NHS Superheroes and the patients that they are treating.
“We’re funding staff welfare hubs and wobble rooms so that our hardworking staff members can spend some time away from the ward and relax in a calming environment, full of drinks, snacks and toiletries, with plenty of comfortable furniture. Alongside this we’re funding mindfulness sessions and other mental health support to help staff to process the difficult things that they’ve witnessed in recent times.
“For patients across the Trust we’ve funded tablets so that they can stay in touch with their loved ones via video chat, as they cannot receive visitors, and we’re also funding radios and activity packs to keep them entertained.
