Bring The Paint Returns To Leicester

Award winning international street art festival Bring The Paint returns to the streets of Leicester this May to host the UK’s graffiti event of the year

Two years ago, Leicester caused a stir in the street art community by bringing a handpicked selection of the world’s top street artists to paint Leicester’s vibrant Cultural Quarter. The city has grown its reputation as a street art hub, with visitors coming to the city to take in the incredible artworks; an impressive piece by SMUG, overlooking the LCB Depot, has become one of Leicester’s most photographed spots.

Back for 2019 and promising more walls and more world class artists, Bring the Paint is set to bring Leicester city centre to life with street art once again.

Inspired by Leicester’s identity as one of the most diverse cities in Europe, this year’s edition of the festival will be about collaboration, bringing together artists from across the world who would not normally meet, who will re-imagine this vibrant diverse city.

The festival will see 50 artists come to Leicester from 20 – 26 May, including internationally acclaimed painters from around the world, all set to transform Leicester city centre with their breath-taking murals. Acclaimed acts include SMUG, INKIE, INSANE 51, HOW & NOSM, DOES, FLYING FORTRESS and WON ABC.

The festival hopes to attract 10,000 visitors to the city, who can watch in wonder as artists paint giant murals on buildings, bring to life vacant retail units and create spectacular 3D floor art.

There will be opportunities for children and families to get involved with workshops, music, food and drinks. To top it all off, the organisers will host an art fair, giving visitors the chance to purchase unique artwork
to take home with them.

Bring the Paint takes place from 20 – 26 May, with the main event on Saturday 25 May, in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter.
