Radio2Funky Launches A New, Free Media Training Project, Solely For Females
From March 2021, Radio2Funky will be running a brand new, FREE, 12-week media training programme from their station, for all women aged 16-25 from Black, Asian & Ethnic Minorities.
The Leicester-based black music and arts station, Radio2Funky, has received support and grant funding from The KFC Foundation, helping them to run this new project, Radio Waves, and provide training for media-focused careers.
This 12-week training programme will run every Thursday from March 24th 6pm – 7:30pm, at Radio2Funky’s high-quality, multi-genre music station (Granby Street, Leicester).
Many women from ethnic minorities, have not previously had any opportunities to work in media environments, so this project aims to provide extensive training for these women, in media forms such as: radio, broadcasting, presenting, show creation, production, research, recording, music technology and editing.
All attendees will work with experienced tutors, who will provide focused mentoring and training, in a patient manner.
Radio Waves is the ideal platform, to help women get started in radio broadcasting, and developing their creativity, confidence, and finding their ‘individual voice’ in radio.
