First wave of acts for BBC Music Introducing East Midlands announced

This summer’s BBC Music Introducing East Midlands, curated by the BBC’s new music initiative, really has something for everyone.

On stage this bank holiday of Saturday 24th August will be Judith Ude, a singer and harpist who fuses classical music and gospel; Mason Bailey,  who is currently working on a debut EP; Oceans Apart, an alternative rock band featuring three brothers and two friends and soulful pop singer and musician Ro Jordan, who releases her second single on 9 August.

Joining them will be Demons of Ruby Mae, who had their song ‘Beneath the Surface’ featured in the hit American TV show ‘Suits’ and Harri Georgio who has recently released his first reggae-styled single ‘Realness’,

BBC Music Introducing East Midlands is also part of De Montfort Hall’s Gigs in the Garden. This summer series features seven events in the hall gardens throughout August. The series concludes with a spectacular firework display and a family friendly concert of film and stage classics performed by the Bardi Symphony Orchestra on Monday 26 August.
